Family owned and operated for over 40 years,
Rainbow Motel has been a welcoming home base for travelers exploring the beauty and charm of Mackinaw City. Located just off I-75 at Exit 338, we offer clean, affordable, and family-friendly accommodations within walking distance of downtown shops, the ferry docks, the City Marina, and popular attractions like Mackinaw Crossing and the Laser Light Show.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the difference that comes with staying at a place built on hospitality, pride, and personal care. Our 29 non-smoking, first-floor rooms offer easy parking right outside your door, with a variety of layouts to fit couples, families, and groups—including connecting rooms and in-room Jacuzzi options.

Since 1984, Jon, Todd, and Laura have been the heart behind Rainbow Motel. As hands-on owners living right on the property, they’ve spent decades greeting new guests with genuine hospitality and making sure every stay feels like a visit with old friends.
Over the years, they've built more than just a business—they’ve built relationships. Lifelong friendships have been formed across check-in counters and bonfire pits, and guests often return year after year to be part of the story. Their passion for creating a clean, quiet, and welcoming atmosphere is reflected in every room and every corner of the property.
